Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reminded his countrymen that “we must be so strong that no one dares to covet our land and identity”.
In a post on X marking forthcoming National Youth Day on 8 November, Pezeshkian recalled the "courage of Mohammad Hossein Fahmideh", a 13-year-old Iranian boy killed during the Iran-Iraq war, and paid tribute to children killed in Minab, Lamerd and other parts of the country.
Pezeshkian said: "The names and memories of our children remain in our minds and shape our collective historical memory, so that we know we must be so strong that no one dares to covet our land and identity."
