Israel's Central Elections Committee chairman ordered Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to remove online videos that utilized military and state resources without authorization. The committee deemed the videos election propaganda and ordered Netanyahu to pay legal fees to the petitioners.

The chairman of Israel's Central Elections Committee chairman ordered that prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu remove online videos where military and public resources were used without authorisation, according to Haaretz.

With election season in Israel set to begin on 27 October, Noam Sohlberg ruled that the videos constituted campaigning and included remarks that could only be seen as "boasting" over the government and the prime minister's achievements.

He also said that the videos are "election propaganda whose intention is to persuade the voter", and ordered Netanyahu to also pay the petitioners 29,000 shekels ($9,500) in legal fees.
