Manchester United continues negotiations with Leicester City to sign 18-year-old midfielder Louis Page before the transfer deadline closes on Tuesday night. The deal is expected to exceed £10 million if the Red Devils manage to complete the move before time runs out.
Manchester United remain in talks with Leicester City over a deadline day move for highly-rated midfielder Louis Page.
United are cautious about their chances of completing a deal before Tuesday's 11pm transfer deadline, but club officials are working to get it done in a move that is likely to cost well in excess of £10m should it get over the line.
The club's interest in Page was first reported by BBC Sport in August.
The 18-year-old only made his first team debut in August 2025, but has already carved out an impressive reputation, making 25 appearances in total.
It is not known what the immediate plan for him would be, given United have already signed three international midfielders, having prioritised a midfield rebuild this summer.
Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos have already made their debut, while Carlos Baleba - a £70m purchase from Brighton - will miss the next couple of weeks with a minor ankle issue.
If the Old Trafford outfit can complete the deal, it would go some way to appeasing supporters who have reacted to what has turned into a quiet deadline day with some concern.
Despite external demands from some for the club to sign a left-back, sources have suggested that is not going to happen.
It had been anticipated Netherlands forward Joshua Zirkzee would leave the club but a proposed move to Juventus failed to materialise and he is increasingly likely to remain within Michael Carrick's squad.
There has still been no update on whether young full-back Harry Amass will be allowed to leave.
