Israeli air strikes killed at least seven Palestinians in Gaza on Wednesday and wounded 35 others, in continued violation of the ceasefire that began last October. Israel now controls over 60 percent of the enclave, with Netanyahu stating his intention to increase this to around 70 percent.
Israeli air strikes killed at least seven Palestinians across Gaza on Wednesday and wounded at least 35 others, despite the “ceasefire” in place since October.
Among the wounded was an elderly Palestinian woman whom Israeli troops shot west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, the Nasser Medical Complex reported.
Palestinians in Gaza have been subject to near continuous attacks by Israel since the ceasefire last year despite Hamas and other Palestinian factions not initiating any major military operations against the Israeli military.
Israel has seized most Palestinian territory in Gaza since the ceasefire and now controls more than 60 percent of the enclave, with Netanyahu even saying that the aim is to increase this to around 70 percent.
At least 1,408 Palestinians have been killed and another 4,916 others injured since 11 October 2025.
A number of senior Israeli officials have also stated their intent to fully ethnically cleanse the territory of Palestinians.
Earlier this month, Israel's defence minister, Israel Katz, declared that Palestinians will leave Gaza.
"There is no real solution for Gaza in the end without migration," Katz told journalist Moran Azoulay at a conference hosted by Israeli outlet Ynet in cooperation with the Israel Democracy Institute.
Close to 74,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since 7 October 2023 while nearly 175,000 have been reported wounded.
The actual death toll is believed to be higher, as thousands more Palestinians are buried under the rubble of buildings destroyed by Israel.
