Midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, winger Amad Diallo and forward Marcus Rashford have all resumed limited training form United. Striker Benjamin Sesko remains further away from a return.
“It’s a bit mixed really through the internationals,” United manager Michael Carrick said. “(Wing back) Patrick Dorgu came off and it looks like he’ll be out probably for a number of weeks.
“(Defender) Noussair Mazraoui came off and took a knock. He’s not quite right yet, we’ll have to see how he is.”
He added that Carlos Baleba was improving and could be close to his first appearance in a match-day squad since his move from Brighton.

* Man City appeal Premier League financial breach ruling
Last week, Manchester City filed an appeal against an independent commission’s ruling that found them guilty of serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules as the club seeks to overturn the decision and avoid potentially severe sanctions.
The league said that City had used “sham” commercial contracts as part of schemes to inflate revenue and understate costs by more than 900 million pounds ($1.19bn) over nearly a decade.
City were found guilty of all charges relating to breaches of the league’s financial rules over nine seasons from 2009-2010 to 2017-2018 as well as three out of four charges concerning failures to cooperate with the investigation.
The club has denied wrongdoing throughout the process.

They are just getting under way in the second half at Emirates Stadium with the game level at 0-0 at the break.
It has been a terse affair so far, with the Gunners unable to find any rhythm. Mikel Arteta will undoubtedly have had some stern words during the interval.

Chelsea attacking midfielder Cole Palmer has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2034, the Premier League club announced on Saturday.
The 24-year-old England international has become a key figure since joining Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023, scoring 91 goals in 138 appearances across all competitions.
He was part of the squad that won the Club World Cup in 2025 and the 2024-25 UEFA Conference League.
“Speaking to the owners, to the sporting directors and obviously the manager, they gave me a lot of confidence so it was only right to sign,” Palmer said. “Speaking to players as well, everyone has the same ambitions.
“I feel like we win major trophies here consistently.”

* Manchester United and Tottenham managers brace for ‘El Sackicko’
Before we start to pick through the fallout of the guilty verdict against Manchester City for more than 100 breaches of Premier League financial rules, we cast an early eye on our featured game on Saturday.
Both Manchester United and Tottenham are accustomed to battling it out at the top end of the table, albeit for UEFA Champions League rankings as opposed the domestic crown in recent years for the former in particular.
Recent seasons have seen both slide to dramatic lows by their standards and a concerned Old Trafford welcomes a Spurs side, whose immediate concerns are far greater than those of the hosts.
