The US military announced Tuesday the completion of a new round of strikes targeting Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps facilities. The operations were carried out in response to alleged IRGC attempted attacks against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and American service members.

"US forces struck Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets including air defense sites, radar systems, maritime assets and facilities, mine laying capabilities, and communications sites," US Central Command said in a post to X, adding that the strikes were in retaliation for "attempted attacks by the IRGC against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and against American service members".
