Oman and Iran discuss Hormuz navigation, regional tensions at UNGA

Oman's Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi and his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi have discussed regional developments and efforts to ensure safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, according to Oman's foreign ministry.

In a statement on X, the ministry said the talks were held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York and focused on diplomatic efforts to ease regional tensions, build trust and address outstanding issues.

"The two ministers also addressed the efforts related to the safety of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and ensuring freedom of passage, contributing to supporting international trade movement and energy supplies," the statement read.
