Iran's IRGC Navy deputy political commander rejected US President Trump's claims about oil and vessel movements through the Strait of Hormuz, arguing that stable oil markets prove Washington's statements are false. The Iranian official asserted that the IRGC Navy maintains full control over transit operations in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Gulf of Oman.
The deputy political commander of Iran’s IRGC Navy has rejected US President Donald Trump's claims about the movement of oil and vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
"If oil and ships are really passing through the Strait of Hormuz, why isn’t the oil market reacting accordingly? Because the market also understands that you are lying," Ali Mohammadi said.
Mohammadi also questioned Washington's claims that the IRGC Navy had been destroyed, asking why its troops remained "600 to 700km" away from the area.
The IRGC Navy official stressed that they maintained "full oversight" of vessel transits in the Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman.
The latest remarks by Mohammadi follow US statements describing Tehran's control of the Strait of Hormuz as "false".
"The United States and regional partners clearly control the strait," the US Central Command (Centcom) said, adding that traffic throught he strategic waterway is flowing "right now".
