The Israeli military announced the killing of Saqr Nabil Musa Qais, director of the Turkish humanitarian organization Deniz Feneri, in an airstrike on a vehicle in Khan Younis in southern Gaza, claiming he was affiliated with Hamas's armed wing. In a separate statement, the military also claimed to have killed a Hamas military commander in another strike in the same area.
The Israeli military said on Sunday that it had killed the director of a Turkish NGO in a strike, accusing him of being a member of Hamas's armed wing.
Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah had earlier announced the death of Saqr Nabil Musa Qais, who led the Turkish humanitarian organisation Deniz Feneri, in a strike on a vehicle in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the Israeli army accused Qais of maintaining "ties with senior leaders of the Hamas terrorist organisation as well as with officials within the Turkish leadership," without providing any evidence.
In a separate statement, the Israeli army also claimed that it had killed a commander of Hamas's armed wing in another strike in the same area.
Since the genocide began in October 2023, Israeli forces have killed more than 74,000 Palestinians and wounded more than 175,000 others.
