Palestinian journalist Farah Abu Ayyash has returned home to her family following 450 days of detention in Israeli prisons, according to a report by the Islamic Republic News Agency (Irna).
Abu Ayyash, a West Bank correspondent for Iran's Tasnim News Agency, was freed on Thursday night after the Ofer Prison military court ordered her release, dismissing the charges brought against her after she served 15 months under administrative detention.
According to Irna, Abu Ayyash was initially detained on 6 August 2025, during an overnight military raid on her family home in Beit Ummar, north of Hebron. The outlet reported that her arrest was tied to her journalistic work covering local developments across the southern West Bank for Tasnim.
The report further noted that repeated procedural delays prolonged her case, keeping her detained without formal resolution under administrative detention at Damon Prison. Irna also reported that the correspondent was allegedly subjected to torture and mistreatment while in custody.
