British authorities arrested five men on suspicion of preparing a terrorist attack at a US air base in southwestern England. President Donald Trump indicated that the suspects were seeking to cause significant damage to the military facility.
British police said counter-terrorism officers were leading efforts to establish what had happened at an airbase used by the US Royal Air Force (RAF) on Sunday, after they arrested five men on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act.
The five men were also arrested on suspicion of committing offences under the Explosives Act.
