WASHINGTON (TNND) —

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called out New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Tuesday for his position on the war in Gaza.

*“Shame on you, Mr. Mamdani,” Netanyahu said in a video posted on the social media platform, X. “Shame on you for supporting the Hamas terrorist monsters who butchered our people. Shame on you for inciting riots against New York Jews. I’m coming to the UN. I’m going to tell the truth about our heroic soldiers, and I’ve got to tell the truth about you.”*

Netanyahu will arrive in New York City on Thursday to address the United Nations General Assembly.

Mamdani responded to Netanyahu’s comments in a press release on Tuesday.

*“We all know that what the prime minister has said in that video is not true,” he said, according to the Politico news outlet. “What we do know to actually be the truth when it comes to the prime minister is that he is the subject of an International Criminal Court arrest warrant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity. As the prime minister, he is the architect of a horrific genocide against Palestinians. And just a few days ago, killed an 11-year-old boy in what is deemed to be a safe zone in Gaza.”*

Last year Mamdani threatened to arrest Netanyahu if he ever came into New York City while he was running for mayor.

“As mayor, New York City would arrest Benjamin Netanyahu,” Mamdani told MSNBC. “This is a city that our values are in line with international law. It’s time that our actions are also."
