President Trump reiterated that Iran must never acquire nuclear weapons, warning that doing so would devastate the Middle East and Israel. He claimed his administration is imposing severe economic pressure on Tehran and conducting military strikes against what he described as a 'failing nation.'
Donald Trump has reiterated that Iran must never obtain a nuclear weapon, saying that if it did, the Middle East "would have essentially been gone".
"You cannot let them have a nuclear weapon, and they won’t have a nuclear weapon," the US president said during an interview with Fox News, describing the country's leadership as "very violent, evil people".
Trump said that if Iran had access to nuclear weapons, the region and Israel would be destroyed, with the US or Europe possibly becoming the next targets.
"If I weren't president, Israel would be gone. There would be no Israel. And there would probably be no Middle East," he added.
Trump also praised US attacks on what he described as a "failing nation", saying that Washington is a "doing a great job" and that the blockade on Iran has been "unbelievable".
"We are hitting them very hard. Nobody has ever been hit like this," he said.
