Saudi authorities lift danger alert for Farasan governorate

Saudi Arabia's Civil Defence Directorate has lifted the danger alert previously issued for Farasan governorate. Similar alerts that had been issued for other regions including Jazan, Abha, and Jeddah have also been withdrawn.
The General Directorate of Saudi Civil Defence has said that the danger it had alerted to earlier in the Farasan governorate has passed.
The alert, sent by the National Early Warning Platform for Emergency Cases, asks residens to follow a set a instructions, including moving to safer places, avoiding crowds or balconies and other vulnerable places.
Similar alerts issued for the Jazan region, the city of Abha and the governorates of Khamis Mushait, Jeddah, Taif and Yanbu were withdrawn earlier.
The latest message urged residents to continue following instructions from the civil defence and to avoid gatherings or filming.
