The European Union condemned Houthi attacks on Saudi oil facilities, calling them a dangerous escalation threatening regional stability. Brussels urged the Yemeni rebels to immediately cease all attacks inside and outside Yemen, including assaults on commercial shipping in the Red Sea.

The European Union urged Yemen's Houthi rebels to "end all attacks" on Tuesday, condemning strikes on Saudi Arabia that targeted oil facilities and wounded dozens of people.

"These attacks constitute a dangerous escalation, violate international law, undermine regional security and stability and risk further jeopardising efforts towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Yemen," said Anouar El Anouni, a spokesman for the bloc's diplomatic service.

"We call on the Houthis to immediately end all attacks inside and outside Yemen, including attacks against commercial shipping in the Red Sea".
