Musician Rob Del Naja arrested for 'I support Palestine Action' message

UK police have arrested Massive Attack frontman Rob Del Naja under the Terrorism Act outside the Labour Party Conference in Liverpool for holding a sign reading, "I oppose genocide, I support Palestine Action".

The British government proscribed Palestine Action as a terrorist group on 5 July 2025 under the UK's Terrorism Act 2000. In footage being shared online, the musician says he “doesn’t recognise the offence”.

Defend Our Juries wrote on X: “Last June, Andy Burnham was on a platform with Del Naja in support of the Fossil Fuel Non Proliferation Treaty, praising his ‘clarity and leadership’.

“Today, he’s having Rob arrested under the Terrorism Act for holding a piece of paper.

“Tomorrow, hundreds will replicate Rob’s brave action near the same location. Today’s arrest gives an indication that police will be making a lot of arrests tomorrow.”
