Yemen's Health Ministry has warned of severe humanitarian and health crises threatening Taiz city due to Houthi obstruction of essential medical supplies. The ministry stressed that critical shortages of medicines, medical solutions, supplies, and fuel in health facilities risk halting life-saving medical services.
Yemen’s Health Ministry warned on Sunday of “serious health and humanitarian repercussions” facing the city of Taiz as a result of the Houthis' obstruction of the delivery of essential supplies.
“The near depletion of medicines, medical solutions, supplies and fuel in health facilities threatens the cessation of several life-saving medical services,” a statement from the ministry was quoted by Saba news agency as saying, demanding “the immediate lifting of the siege, the opening of supply routes and the guarantee of safe passage for patients, ambulances, medical personnel and humanitarian aid to the city”.
