"He has to stop knocking out diesel fuel in Russia. Let him go after targets, but not diesel fuel, because he's causing a shortage of diesel,"Trump said.
The president claimed Ukraine's recent actions are having a larger impact on the global supply of diesel than the war in Iran.
Diesel prices have surged to $6.23 a gallon,according to AAA,marking about a 66% increase compared to February, when Trump and Israel jointly launched the Iran war.
While diesel may not be used for your personal vehicle, it is essential for transporting goods across the economy, which could affect the price of everyday items.
AAA is reporting that the price of regular gas on Monday is $4.32 per gallon. That's a 36% increase compared to one year ago.
