Israel's Central Elections Committee chairman, Noam Sohlberg, said the election was conducted properly and its results reflect the will of voters. His statement came after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud party claimed the vote had been "stolen."
Israel’s Central Elections Committee chairman Noam Sohlberg said on Sunday that the election was conducted properly and its results reflect voters’ will, Haaretz reported.
Speaking alongside Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara and Shin Bet chief David Zini, Sohlberg said all three backed the conclusions.
"We are standing here together, and what I am telling you is agreed upon by all three of us," he said.
His statement came after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Likud party seized on an investigation to claim the election had been "stolen" and warn opposition parties against working with Palestinian parties to replace the government.
