Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned Tuesday it will target oil tankers near Kuwaiti and Bahraini ports in retaliation for recent US strikes on Iranian vessels. Iran's joint military command threatened heavy strikes on US military bases and interests in the region should Washington attack any Iranian ships.

The IRGC navy warned on Tuesday that it will target oil tankers in the vicinity of Kuwaiti and Bahraini ports in response to recent US attacks on Iranian oil tankers.

In a message carried by Iranian broadcaster IRIB, the IRGC navy urged the crew of oil tankers in the vicinity of Kuwaiti and Bahraini ports to immediately leave their vessels, whether anchored or docked.

This comes after a spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Iran’s joint military command, said earlier on Tuesday that Iranian forces will “heavily target” US bases and other interests in the region if the US military attacks any Iranian ships, adding that the US military has threatened to target three Iranian oil tankers, in comments carried by Iranian broadcaster IRIB.
