Syria accuses Israel of striking airfield in northwest

Syria accused Israel of striking an airfield in its northwestern province of Idlib on Tuesday, after a security source told AFP the out-of-service military facility had been hit.

"Israeli occupation aircraft early this morning targeted the runway of the Abu Duhur military airport... with eight strikes," Syrian state television quoted an unidentified military source as saying, adding that "the attack resulted in material damage to the airport's infrastructure, without causing casualties".

Houthis targeted refinery in southern Saudi Arabia, says rebel media

Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis targeted an oil refinery on Saudi Arabia's southern Red Sea coast, rebel media reported, as the rebels ramp up attacks on the kingdom.

Strikes hit military airport in northwest Syria

"Early on Tuesday morning, unknown aircraft bombed the Abu Duhur military airport in Idlib province," the source said on condition of anonymity. The facility has been out of service since 2012 and is currently protected by Syrian defence ministry forces, the source said, without immediately reporting casualties.

No side has claimed the strikes on the airfield, which suffered heavy damage during Syria's civil war.
