Crystal Palace's deal for Club Brugge defender Joel Ordonez has hit complications after his medical examination, with the Premier League club now facing a decision on whether to proceed. The 22-year-old's metatarsal injury has proven more serious than initially assessed by the Eagles.
Club Brugge defender Joel Ordonez's move to Crystal Palace has run into complications after his medical, with the Premier League club set to decide whether to proceed with the deal.
BBC Sport reported this week that Palace had hijacked Aston Villa's move for the Ecuador centre-back and agreed an initial loan for Ordonez that included an option to buy at the end of the season.
The 22-year-old is recovering from a broken metatarsal, which Palace were aware of when negotiating the deal, but the injury is understood to be worse than the Eagles originally believed.
Palace have accelerated their efforts to sign a new centre-back after Chadi Riad was taken off on a stretcher against Everton on Saturday.
