The US Central Command says its forces have redirected 144 commercial vessels as of 31 October as part of its "ironclad" naval blockade against Iran. The latest figure marks an increase from the 135 ships it reported earlier in the month.
The United States Central Command has said that as of 31 October, its forces have redirected 144 commercial vessels as part of its "ironclad" naval blockade against Iran.
In a post on X, Centcom said the vessels had been redirected “to ensure compliance” and the George Washington aircraft carrier was supporting enforcement of the blockade.
Today’s latest total is an increase from the 135 ships that earlier this month Centcom said had been turned around since the blockade of Iranian ports was announced in mid-July.
