US House Speaker Mike Johnson announced that the United States is entering 'a new phase' in its conflict with Iran, expecting allied nations to participate in the coming phase. Johnson credited President Trump with achieving the goal of preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and warned against trusting Iran at the negotiating table.
The speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, said on Sunday that the United States is entering “a new phase” in the war with Iran.
“I think we’re going to get into a new phase here very soon. I believe our allied nations are going to assist in the next phase, and we’ll get this finished,” Johnson said in an interview on Fox News.
He stated that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons “has been a goal of all previous administrations, and Trump has achieved it."
"The Iranians cannot be trusted at the negotiating table," he added.
