Iran has suspended vehicle imports for hotel operators and Iranian expatriates, redirecting foreign currency reserves toward medicines and essential goods. The government stated that all efforts are focused on meeting vital needs and maintaining economic stability.
Tehran has paused vehicle imports for hotel operators and Iranian expatriates, directing foreign currency towards medicines and other necessities, government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani says.
“Due to the country’s special circumstances, the allocation of foreign currency to all non-priority matters has been suspended by order of the president,” she said, according to Tasnim.
The temporary restrictions extend to every vehicle category, including vans and specialised models.
“At present, all of the government’s efforts and foreign-currency resources are focused on supplying essential goods, medicine, and vital needs to maintain the dynamism of the country’s economy,” Mohajerani added.
