US President Donald Trump said Iran wants to strike a deal and that negotiations mediated by Qatar are progressing well, while questioning Tehran's reliability. He also renewed his threat to strike Pick Axe Mountain, which Washington claims houses a nuclear site.
US President Donald Trump has said Iran wants to “make a deal” and that negotiations are “going fine”, but questioned Tehran's reliability.
Speaking to reporters at a Halloween party in Florida, Trump said Iran had repeatedly backed out of agreements.
“They want to make a deal, we will see if they make a deal,” he said.
Asked about a timeframe for the Qatari-mediated talks, Trump said Washington was “not in that much of a hurry”. He again claimed that the US had destroyed Iran's navy, air force and manufacturing capabilities.
Trump also renewed his threat to strike Iran's Pick Axe Mountain, which Washington claims hosts a nuclear site, saying the US could “do that all very quickly”.
