Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei reaffirmed that the Strait of Hormuz remains under Iran's full control and blamed the United States for fueling regional maritime instability. Baghaei called on the international community to hold Washington accountable for rising global fuel prices.
Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, has said the Strait of Hormuz remains and will remain under Iran’s full control, blaming the US for regional maritime insecurity and rising global fuel prices, Mehr news agency reported.
“The insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz is the result of US actions, and if the international community is concerned about rising fuel prices, it should reprimand the United States,” Baghaei said during a televised interview on Friday.
Baghaei accused the United States of violating the Islamabad MoU only 23 days after its signing, adding the US’s “pretexts” for carrying out attacks “had no basis”.
